Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Srinagar Pickup
Pickup from Srinagar Airport and Drop to the Houseboat, After freshup visit
Mughal Garden Sightseeing - Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, Chasme Shahi Garden,
and Evening Shikara Ride on Dal Lake, Overnight stay in Houseboat.
Day
2 : Srinagar- Zojila- Drass- Kargil ( 205 kms / 5 - 6 hours)
After breakfast leave for Kargil, driving through Sonamarg and crossing the
Zoji-la pass (11,500-ft. / 3,505 mtrs) en-route. On the way, there are halts
at Sonamarg a pristine valley with lush views and snow-clad peak; Zo jila
Pass (a high altitude pass); Drass Village- the world's 2nd coldest
inhabitant place. Here you visit War memorial hall and Museum- also known as Vijaypath. The memorial was constructed by the Indian Army in the memory of
the soldiers and officers of the Indian Army who laid their lives in Kargil
War. Overnight in the hotel at Kargil.
Day 3: Kargil - Lamayuru- Indus Zanskar River Conference - Rafting Point -
Magnetic Hill - Leh ( 235 kms / 6-7 hours )
After Breakfast check out hotel and drive to Leh, enroute viewing / visiting the dramatically
located Lamayuru monastery and the adjoining "Moonland" hills forming its
backdrop. Driving further on along the Indus, visit Sanagm (confluence of
Indus & Zanskar Rivers), (River RAFTING POINT - you can rafting here 2 or 3
hrs) after drive to Magnetic Point, Pathar Sahib Gurudwara & Hall of Fame
(museum of military heritage).
Magnetic hill to marvel at the amazing natural wonder. Also pay respects to
Pathar Sahib Gurudwara- constructed in memory of Guru Nanak Dev ji- the
founder of Sikh religion and the first guru . Continue your road journey. On
arrival in Leh, visit the Hall of Fame Museum a war memorial by the Indian
Army that was founded in the memory of Indian soldiers who laid lives in
Indo-Pak wars. Complete the check-in formalities at your hotel. Overnight
stay in Leh.
Day 04 : Leh Full Day - Monastery Sightseeing
After morning break fast visiting the most important monasteries of Ladakh - Shey Palace, Thiksey Gompa and Hemis monastery .
First we visit the ruined Shey Palace, once the summer palace of the
pre-Tibetan kings. The palace monastery houses a large, bronze, blue haired
Buddha statue and next stop at superbly situated, 16th century, Thiksey
Gompa,
which is perched on a hill top and continue to visit Hemis Monastery (5 km
from Kharu) is also on the cards. Hemis is the largest and richest monastery
complex in Ladakh. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day
05 :- Leh - Khardungla Pass - Nubra Hunder Valley ( 5 - 6 Hrs)
After breakfast leave for Nubra Valley, driving across Khardong-la (alt:
18,380 ft). After descending from the pass, drive on for sightseeing of
Sumoor area. proceed to Hunder Check-in at Hotel/Camp, freshen up & later
you can have a Double Hump Bactarian Camel ride. Dont forget to click this
unique mammal, found in cold Desert. It was once used to carry the trade
material on silk route. Overnight stay at Hunder/Nubra Camps/Hotel.
Day 06 : Hunder Diskit Monastery - Turtuk - Hunder (2 - 3 hrs)
After Breakfast, Visit to Diskit Monastery -
The Diskit monastery was founded by Changzem Tserab Zangpo in the 14th
century, and at present stands atop a hill above the plains of Shayok river.
The prime attraction of the Diskit monastery is 100 foot high Maitreya
Buddha statue, which was inaugurated by the holy Dalai Lama. From the top of
the Gompa, where the divine statue is settled, one can have a panoramic view
of the Nubra valley.
After proceed towards Turtuk- the Land of Baltis, which was under control of Pakistan before 1971 War between the two nations. You may like to visit 16 century Mosque and Minaret, Royal house of Yabgo dynasty, Ruin palace of Pun Khar, Historic polo ground.
After Sightseeing back to Hunder and Overnight stay in Camp.
Day 07 :- Hunder - Pangong Lake Via Shayok (4- 5 Hrs)
After breakfast at hotel drive to Pangong Lake Via Shyok River onto
Tangtse (Packed or Hot Lunch will be provided).
It's a short cut and it's a beautiful route. The road follows the Shyok
river, and climbs up a mountain before finally descending into Shayok
village. It took us less than an hour to reach Shayok, and we were delighted
at the sight of the rather big village surrounded by barren mountains, the
entire setting being very picturesque. Afternoon reach at Pangong lake and
Enjoy the beauty of the lake on the Banks of pangong while appreciating the
changing Colors and fascinating high altitude of the Lake. Overnight stay in
Camp.
Day
08 : Pangong to Tsomoriri Lake (6 -7 Hrs)
Morning after breakfast drive to Tsomoriri lake (14000 ft abov sea level) by
passing Chumathang (Hot Spring)
It is a breathtaking journey on a trail that is literally a ‘no mans' land.
Vast lonely stretches on the Chanthang plateau makes this drive one of the
best isolated drives of this tour. Enroute visit the faraway settlement of
Chusul. Tsomoriri is situated at an altitude of 4511m above sea level; with
an area of about 140 Sq.km. Spend your evening watching shadows of the
surrounding mountain and the varying depths of Tsomoriri lake. Stay in
Cottages Camp at Tso Moriri.
Day 09 : Tsomoriri Lake Tsokar - Tangla Pass - (17582 FT.) (6 hrs)Leh Back
After breakfast retrace the route down to Puga Sumdo and then follow the
road across the Polokongka Pass (4920 mtrs) to visit Tsokar Lake, a salt
lake system in the Rupsho plateau which is home of the Changa nomads and
support many rare wild life species. After sightseeing of the area take the
Manali-Leh road to return to Leh, crossing Taglang-la (alt: 17,585ft) en-
route. Arrive at hotel in Leh and free , and shopping and Overnight stay in
Hotel.
Day 10 :- Departure Leh
Early morning transfer to the airport for taking the flight back home.
