Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival Srinagar Local Sightseeing
Pickup from Srinagar Airport and drop to the Hotel / Hotels, after freshup
proceed for city tour of Srinagar. The world famous Mughal Gardens visiting
the Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) & Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love), &
The Chasme Shahi Garden, & Shankaracharya Temple. In the evening return to
Houseboat / Hotel.
Overnight at Hotel or Houseboat.
Day 02 : Srinagar- Zojila- Drass- Kargil ( 205 kms / 5 - 6 hours)
Pickup from Sirnagar Around 11 AM - and drive to Kargil via Sonamarg -
(Lunch on the Way) driving through Sonamarg and crossing the Zoji-la pass
(11,500-ft. / 3,505 mtrs) en-route. On the way, there are halts at Sonamarg
a pristine valley with lush views and snow-clad peak; Zo jila Pass (a high
altitude pass); Drass Village- the world's 2nd coldest inhabitant place.
Here you visit War memorial hall and Museum- also known as Vijaypath. The
memorial was constructed by the Indian Army in the memory of the soldiers
and officers of the Indian Army who laid their lives in Kargil War.
Overnight in the hotel at Kargil.
Day 03: Kargil - Lamayuru- via Alchi Monastery (Indus Zanskar River
Conference ) - Magnetic Hill - Leh ( 235 kms / 6-7 hours )
After Breakfast check out hotel and drive to Leh, enroute viewing / visiting
the dramatically located Lamayuru monastery and the adjoining "Moonland"
hills forming its backdrop. after visiting the 11th century Alchi oldest
surviving monastic heritage of Ladakh - a UNESCO listed heritage site.
Driving further on along the Indus, visit Sanagm (confluence of Indus &
Zanskar Rivers), (River RAFTING POINT - you can rafting here 2 or 3 hrs)
after drive to Magnetic Point, Pathar Sahib Gurudwara & Hall of Fame (museum
of military heritage).
Magnetic hill to marvel at the amazing natural wonder. Also pay respects to
Pathar Sahib Gurudwara- constructed in memory of Guru Nanak Dev ji- the
founder of Sikh religion and the first guru . Continue your road journey. On
arrival in Leh, visit the Hall of Fame Museum a war memorial by the Indian
Army that was founded in the memory of Indian soldiers who laid lives in
Indo-Pak wars. Complete the check-in formalities at your hotel. Overnight
stay in Leh.
Day 04 : Leh Full Day - Monastery Sightseeing
After morning break fast visiting the most important monasteries of Ladakh -
Shey Palace, Thiksey Gompa and Hemis monastery .
First we visit the ruined Shey Palace, once the summer palace of the
pre-Tibetan kings. The palace monastery houses a large, bronze, blue haired
Buddha statue and next stop at superbly situated, 16th century, Thiksey
Gompa,
which is perched on a hill top and continue to visit Hemis Monastery (5 km
from Kharu) is also on the cards. Hemis is the largest and richest monastery
complex in Ladakh. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 05 : Leh - Khardungla - Nubra Hunder Valley (4- 5 Hrs)
After breakfast drive to Nubra valley over the Khardung la,(18300feet)
highest motor able road in the World. and Proceed to Diskit Monastery
Diskit Monastery also known as Diskit Gompa or Diskit Gompa is the oldest
and largest Buddhist monastery in the Nubra Valley of Ladakh, northern
India.
After explores we drive toward the down Hunder past an area of rolling sand
dunes, one can see double hump Camel and visitors can take a camel safari
dunes at Hundar. Over night in Camp.
Day 06 : Hunder - Turtuk - Hunder (2 - 3 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Turtuk (which is first time opened for the tourist
in 2010) which is a place Annexed by India only after the 1971 war, the
village of Turtuk is one of the only Balti villages in India and lies right
next to the LOC. The village with the whole population of muslims still
resembles mini Pakistan. The village�s inhabitants still use traditional
utensils which are crafted from stone. Explore the village of Turtuk the
village offers views of beautiful valley, part of Shyok Valley. On clear
days you can have glimpse of K2 mountain peak located across the border in
Pakistan. Though a muslim village, there are few gompas located on the
plateau above Shyok River and there is a old royal house to see in village.
Return to Hundar by the evening.
Overnight stay in Camp , Hunder
Day 07 : Hunder - Nubra Valley - Pangong Lake
After breakfast at hotel we drive to next destination pangong lake via Shyok
and onto Tang Tse and Spangmik ( Pangong). It's a short cut and it's a
beautiful route. The road follows the Shyok river, and climbs up a mountain
before finally descending into Shayok village. It took us less than an hour
to reach Shayok, and we were delighted at the sight of the rather big
village surrounded by barren mountains, the entire setting being very
picturesque.
Afternoon we reach at Pangong lake and enjoy your day at pangong lake.
Overnight stay at camp.
Day 08 : Pangong Lake - Hanle via Chushul - Tsaga La-loma band
Hanle in changthang region of Ladakh is one of the most beautifully
chanting, calm and soul loosing places in India. Hanle has a lovely hanle
monastery offering some great aerial views of whole village that is a home
of about 1000 people. Hanle monastery is a 17th century monastery of the
Drukpa lineage. The views from the top of monastery are just breath taking.
Hanle is also house an Indian astronomical observatory which is the world
highest observatory in the world at a staggering height of 4500 mtrs.
Overnight in guest house.
Day 09 : Hanle - Tsomoriri Lake
After breakfast leave for Tsomoriri Lake (14,000 ft),3-4 hrs one way drive
on the way visiting Nyoma-Mahe bridge. Dinner and overnight at Camp/Hotel in
Tsomoriri.
Day 10 : Tsomoriri Lake - Tsokar - Jispa VIA Baralacha-la Lachlung -La
(16,616 feet), (315 Kms / 9 -10 hrs)
Early Morning drive to Serchu passing Puga (Sulphur Mine), Tsokar Lake,
Skyang chu Thang Skyangchu Thang (Biggest and Highest Plateau on Stretch of
42 Kms, Enjoy your pack lunch at Pang, post lunch leave for Sarchu by
crossing Nakeela and Lchung La. On the way high altitude passes, Baralacha-la
Lachlung -La (16,616 feet), Nakee-La (15,547 feet)
They can be seen moving from one place to another, grazing herds of goats,
sheep and yaks. Arrive Jispa by evening. Overnight stay in Jispa Guest
House.
Day 11 : Jispa - Keylong - Kaza Over Kunzam Pass - 4558 m (200 km/ 10 hrs)
After breakfast drive through Kaza on the way - Keylong - Keylong is
situated at an elevation of 3350m in the heart of the Himalayas in a lonely
corner with high cliffs covered with snow.
After drive to several villages of Spiti over the Kunzum pass, (4551 m).
From here the Shigri Glacier is seen in front in all its grandeur. The crest
of the pass has been marked by a chorten of stones erected ages ago. A
temple has been built on top dedicated to Lord Geypan. Every vehicle has to
go around the temple to get the blessings of God.
After Keylong drive to Jispa and Evening check in Camp and Overnight Stay.
Day 12 : In Kaza - visit the Ki monastery, small gompa at Kibber (4205 m) -
After breakfast drive to famous Kye gompa. The gompa is placed high on a
mountain looking like a pyramid. It belongs to the Gelugpa sect of Tibetan
Buddhism. Kibber, one of the highest permanent inhabited villages is located
in a semi bowl-shape. A small Gompa is worth to visit, later we go to Kaza,
the headquarter of Spiti Valley.
Day 13 : Kaza - Tabo (2 hrs) - Tabo - Kalpa (5 hrs) on the route visit of
Lalung and Dhankar Gompa - Kalpa
After breakfast drive to Tabo in Enroute Nako, Nako Village at an altitude
of 3662 m in Hingrang Valley is the famous and largest village. Yaks, kine,
horses and donkeys are reared here in abundance. At the right side of Spiti
River, is an ancient Village, flanked on either side by lofty hills, brown
and sun burnt, it is the seat of one of the most famous monasteries: The
1000 year old Tabo Monastery. It has exquisite frescoes and stucco statues
and is often called the Ajanta of the Himalayas.
Day 14 : Kalpa - Sangla 2,758 metres / 9,048 feet (40 kms/ 2-3 hrs) - Mt.
Kinner Kailash Mountain View
After breakfast at the hotel you will be drive to Sangla Enroute we will
stop at Recongpeo and will have a walk around the local market. Recongpeo is
the district headquarters of Kinnaur district. We will have lunch in a local
restaurant where you have a choice to enjoy Indian or Tibetian food. After
lunch we will drive to kalpa (7 kms), you will check in to your hotel.
These villages are covered with thick pine forests and are famous for
apricots and apples. The finest view of the Mt. Kinner Kailash Mountain
(6000 metres) can be had from here. This is a spectacular sight early in the
morning as the rising sun touches the snowy peaks with crimson and gold
light. Kalpa is situated at an altitude of 2759 m from the sea level, on the
old Hindustan Tibet Road at a distance of 260 km from Shimla. Earlier it was
the District Headquarter of Kinnaur. It is 14 KMS. It has all the
characteristics of a heritage village. Kalpa came into prominence in the
wake of British Governor General Lord Dalhousie�s visit in the 19th century.
Day 15 : Sangla - Sarahan - 2,680 metres / 8,792 feet, (90 Kms / 4-5 hrs)
After breakfast driving to Sarahan (4-5 hrs) where you will check in at your
hotel or could also choose to stay in fixed luxury tented accommodation.
After lunch you will be taken on a walk through Kamru and Sangla villages (
1-2 hrs) and we will visit the beautifully carved old temples and Buddhist
monasteries. You will have plenty of opportunity to speak to the local
people in these valleys. The Sangla valley is also known as the Baspa Sangla
valley, after river Baspa which flows through the valley and it is the part
of Kinnaur valley. Overnight in hotel in Sarahan.
Day 16 : Sarahan - Shimla (5 hrs)
After breakfast check out hotel and drive to Shimla - Eninoute visit the
famous temple of Bhimakali at Sarahan. This is the same temple in which
human sacrifices were made about two centuries ago.
after sightseeing drive to shimla, Lunch in Shimla , After Lunch drive to
Chandigarh, Evening Check in Hotel and stay.
Day 17 : Shimla - Chandigarh Departure
After breakfast check out hotel and drop to the Chandigarh Airport / Hotel.
