On arrival at Leh airport, you will be met by our representative at the airport and and Drop to the Hotel. Complete day for the acclimatization & rest as Leh is at an altitude of 3500 Mtrs above sea level. Overnight stay in Leh.
After breakfast, drive to Sham Valley Sightseeing first visit to Hall of Fame, Gurudwar Pathar Shahib, Magnetic Hill, Sangam of (Confluence of river Zanskar and Indus point) . Evening visit to Shanti Stupa & Leh Package, After Sightseeing back to Hotel and Overnight stay.
After breakfast check out hotel drive to Nubra Valley, also known as Valley of flowers From Khardungla top, one of the highest motor-able roads in the world, Khardung La pass (altitude: 18,380 ft.) after drive to Nubra Valley Pass by the Shyok River and arrive at Nubra Valley, First Visit to Diskit Monastery, Diskit Monastery - the oldest and largest Gompa in Nubra valley famous for its beautiful architecture and intricate frescos and wall paintings.
Matitreya Buddha : The 108 feet tall statue of Maitreya Buddha is located just below the Diskit monastery, at an altitude of 10,308 feet, 15 kilometers northwest off the Khalsar-Panakil route, right at the edge of the desert in the Nubra Valley. The height of the Maitreya Buddha statue is certainly something to think about, but there are other things about the statue that are as interesting, While the Diskit Monastery is a major tourist place to visit in Nubra Valley in itself, you cannot miss out on the Maitreya Buddha statue. After Diskit around 20 Mints from Drive for Hunder, you can also enjoy a ride on double humped camel on the Sand Dunes . Equally surprising is the sight of the double humped Bactrian camels, whose two humps enable them to develop resistance to cold, drought & high altitudes. Taking a ride on these double humped camels which gently make their way among the white sand dunes, with poplar trees dotting the landscape & the pleasing murmur of the River Shyok flowing nearby, it all makes for a memorable experience. After breakfast at hotel we drive to next destination pangong lake via Shyok and onto Tang Tse and Spangmik ( Pangong). It's a short cut and it's a beautiful route. The road follows the Shyok river, and climbs up a mountain before finally descending into Shayok village. It took us less than an hour to reach Shayok, and we were delighted at the sight of the rather big village surrounded by barren mountains, the entire setting being very picturesque. Afternoon we reach at Pangong lake and enjoy your day at pangong lake. Overnight stay at camp.
After breakfast, leave Pangong / Tangtse and retrace the Leh route across Chang-la. Upon reaching Karu, drive across the Indus and visit the famous Hemis Monastery, biggest monastery of Ladakh. Later drive on to Leh, enroute visiting the picturesque Thiksey monastery. Stok Palace, 3Idiot School and after sightseeing check in Hotel and overnight in hotel.
Hemis monastery
Hemis monastery is one of the popular tourist destinations in Ladakh. This monastery is stationed on the west bank of the peaceful river Indus. The location lies 45 km from Leh city. This is the largest as well as amost favoured monastery in Ladakh was constructed in 1672 AD under the reign of King Singge Namgyal. Hemis monastery host an annual festival called Hemis Tsechu attracts plenty of tourists across the globe. During this colourful day-long festival the local resident lamas glorify the victory of good over bad and perform dance wearing holy masks.
Thiksey Monastery
Thiksey Monastery is a convenient 45 min drive from Leh - the main city in Ladakh. There is good choice of accommodation available in Leh. Alternatively, one can stay at the excellent Chamba Hotel at the base of Thiksey monastery and run by the Monastery. Chamba Hotel has traditional Ladakhi architecture.
The Druk White Lotus School (3 Idiots School)
The great Indian Films! They make places a popular tourist spot out of nowhere!! Amir Khan Starrer "3 idiots" is one of such Indian Boolywood movie. Some parts of the film were shot at Pangaong Lake, Ladakh and some in a school near Leh named "The Druk White Lotus School" . The school is located 15 km from Leh town on the Leh-Manali highway in the village Shey. This school became a popular tourist spot after huge success of the movie and after damage of its building by cloudburst that struck Leh on August 2010. The actor Amir Khan visited the school after the incident and helped to raise funds for rebuilding damage structure of the school.
